Welcome to the Travel Diaries series! In this sequel, I will report on my travels and any recommendations I might have. This week, I was fortunate enough to visit the beautiful English town that is Bath. The town is a cultural hotspot and a must-see for anyone who is interested in History, especially the Romans. Here are a few introductions to some places I visited and recommendations. Enjoy my Bath travel diaries!

Bath Abbey is a parish Church part of the Church of England. It is located in the heart of Bath and is beside Kingston Parade and the Roman Baths. The Abbey is worth exploring with its beautiful stained glass inside and high Tudor fan vaulted ceiling. There are numerous historical references present inside and the Church is one of the most beautiful in England.

My lunch place of choice was Cortado café, a unique food spot in Bath due to its Argentinian roots. The café serves drinks, lunch and brunch and traditional empanadas. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. There was a very cosy and welcoming atmosphere inside and the staff were lovely. I highly recommend the pancakes and ciabatta sandwiches

Pulteney Bridge is located in Bath city centre. As far as bridges go, this one is unique. It has shops on the full length of the bridge. It is classic Georgian architecture and represents the Bath culture. It goes over the River Avon and dates back to 1774. What makes the scene so unique is also thanks to the weir on the river.

For the book lovers out there, Persephone books is the place to go. They cover a wide range of classic literature and give them their signature grey book covers.

The Roman baths are a must when visiting Bath. Students pay £21 for entry and you can discover all about the Roman Spa’s of the time. They are one of the best conserved Roman remains in the world. Alongside the famous baths, there are several treasures and artifacts from the Roman time. From indoor baths to reconstructed squeletons, the baths are a cultural hotspot.

Otherwise known as The Modiste in Bridgerton, the Abbey Deli is a lovely café that supports local suppliers. They have lots of choice including veggie options and have a very cosy Bridgerton atmosphere inside. For Bridgerton fans, they also have different infusions based on the show’s characters such as Lemongrass and Ginger for Penelope!
